When I started Author Buzz (UK) all those years ago, it was with the idea that it would grow into a place to get news about your favourate authors. I’m not going to lie, that dream is still an ongoing project. Towards that end, I thought I would start a space where we might share author appearances at book signings, events, festivals and such.
How good this blog becomes for that goal remains to be seen. I’ve left it open for Author Buzz members to contribute by sharing details. Which means that anyone could share an author’s appearance or event.
Don’t expect much more than: Who, Where, When, and a link.
Speaking of links, I plan to put up a collection of links where I have been able to source author appearance news. This does favour the authors whose publishers have their act together (and share the information). Indie authors and self-publishers might want to submit their own news.
How to share author appearance news
To add author news, you can either get the attention of an editor or contributor or (and this is the easy option) log in to your free Author Buzz account, join the group, and pop back to this blog and just start writing. There may be a delay between your finishing a news share and an editor or admin publishing it.
Agents, publishers, bookshops, and others who may wish to share news regularly should have a chat with the admins about getting direct publishing access for themselves or a team member. We want to know where we can meet authors, witness talks by authors, and generally be fans of authors.
